Iftaar at the kingdom towers

There is a big difference in the way I went through Ramadan in NY and the way I go through it in Riyadh. My company hosted a Iftaar party at the 4 Seasons hotel in Kingdom towers yesterday. The food was absolutely amazing, the decor was really good and the best part about it was that everyone around me was taking part in it as well. I mean I had really good experiences in NY, at work and otherwise, but there are times when being here is worth it. Ramadan is one of those times and I don't think I would be rather be anywhere else. Oh, by the by, the picture on top is of the kingdom towers, the hotel is attached but on the ground floor.

Not surprising at all :(
Halo3 isn't even out yet in Saudi Arabia. There are plenty of reasons to not want to live here.

Ramadan ended 12 October, according to the infidel, Wikipedia. Maybe he met a girl? Remember when Meyers ignored us for a year while brainwashing Christina into marrying him? So, we shouldn't expect to hear from Syed until October 2008. This has been cross-posted at Syed's blog.

For the time being, put Anarchy in the UK in a loop and do some blow.

If I had to talk to c yohman, I would probably vanish off the face of the earth too.

By the way, I know a guy who got offered 500k for a year to work in Saudi Arabia, but he had to be driven everywhere and was restricted to the place he lived and where he worked. The Saudi govt. wouldn't let him go anywhere not designated for him. He said it was the most boring time in his life and he would have thrown himself from his apartment window but the glass had bars. Presumably to prevent exactly that thing from happening.

If we wanted to synchronize daytime and nighttime everywhere, would we keep the two quanities constant at 12 throughout the year?

That is absurd sir yohman. if the time is always 12, then the whole concept of time is a moot point.

No, idiot. 12 hours of sunlight and 12 hours of nighttime per day. Also, we need to have follow-up comments sent to the list. That way other people will contribute.

That would require changing the tilt of the earth, which I think would have consequences much more dire than correcting our time problem
